Sparrow Partnership: Relaxing and Surrendering to God
As simple as sparrows are, there are lessons to be learned from watching them. Ever wonder why it’s so relaxing to just sit and watch birds? Life can be so hurried and stressful for humankind, so it’s nice to see birds unapologetically go about their business, chirping away as if they haven’t given much thought to their surroundings. They don’t have any idea of what’s happening in our world, so there’s a sense of peace in that. While they do work hard, they also start their day in song and flit about from place to place as they tend to their daily tasks. They are not worried or stressed out, yet your faithful Savior has his gaze on each and every one of them, which means He most certainly has His loving eyes on YOU.
We must begin to surrender to God and know He has a plan for each of us. He sets kingdoms and rulers in place, and He protects and provides for His children, even as the world falters. Jesus is taking care of you, singing love songs to your heart, and giving you wings to fly above life’s troubles and tribulations. Sparrows are amongst the smallest of creatures, yet the gifts they contribute to our ecosystem are enough in the eyes of the Lord. Our contributions to this world as people, be it small or large, are making a difference…one person at a time. Jesus sees the “big picture,” and as we give Him our time, talent, and treasure, He creates something much greater than what we could ever fashion in our own strength.
